My data FuzeDrive is no longer visible in the system or disk manager. Can I still access my data?

When the FuzeDrive software detects a configuration error on bootup for a data FuzeDrive, depending on the severity of the failure, it may end up in a state where it will not longer automatically mount (or appear) on a reboot. This is a feature designed to prevent further damage to any data in the event the system is experiencing memory corruption issues for example.

Examples of issues that can cause FuzeDrive to not mount correctly:
  • A drive has been disconnected or removed - reconnect and it should remount if all is well.
  • There is a bad cable in the system - check the cables to make sure they are not loose or become disconnected. Restart the PC.
  • The FuzeDrive is reporting VMAP errors after an abnormal shutdown or reset of the machine.

In the case of the FuzeDrive errors, you can temporarily test if the FuzeDrive is mountable using the following command from an Administrator command line or powershell window:

  ecmd --attach t=0 --force

This will force the FuzeDrive to remount and the file system on the FuzeDrive should be visible once again. See the FuzeDrive software help in the system tray application on how to handle any VMAP errors to permanently fix the error. As always, it is recommended you backup your data once you have it visible before making further changes to the system.

Note, if for any reason the fix involves help from the Enmotus support teams and you prefer to always override the automatic dismount on error, the following option may allow the software to mount regardless of errors on subsequent reboots:

  ecmd --loadonerror on t=0
